Carmen Amaya Viewpoint
This viewpoint is a tribute to flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya and her close relationship with Begur, a town which gave her the welcome and rest she needed between tour and tour. It was at this point where the artist performed her last dance in 1963 to raise money to pay for the lighting of Begur Castle. Nicknamed “La Capitana”, she settled in the Mas d’en Pinc farmhouse now owned by Begur Town Council. This viewpoint in Forgas Square can be reached on foot although there is a car park right next to it. It provides a gorgeous panoramic view of the southern side of the old town of Begur and its castle.
